Dead is Dead...

unless you're name is John Locke.

So this was a halfway decent episode. I actually didn't see the sneak peeks for the first time EVER (but had read the plot description from ABC six weeks ago, so whatever).

I loved the Ben/Widmore interactions and the "rules" between them make much more sense. Looks like Widmore got voted off the island for gallivanting around in the real world.

Caesar is dead BOOM didn't see that one coming from a mile away.

I would very much like to know what lies in the shadow of the statue...please tell us soon.

Sooooo are you trying to tell me you flush an ancient toilet underground to summon the smoke monster??? How creative.

Ben got the shit beat out of him by Desmond for trying to kill Penny, who didn't see this one coming?

Did I miss something or how did Locke know about how to get to the temple wall? I don't remember him ever being there so I must have overlooked something.

The smoke monster = jesus...it cleanses you of your sins! And it's like a really bad form of something that shoves flashbacks down your throat. The special effects there were a tad bit iffy as well. Also, who in the hell is responsible for giving Alex air-time again? She annoys the hell out of me, even if she is possessed by the island/monster (and apparently REALLY likes John Locke).

Next week: it's time for The Miles Show. Guess we'll get his backstory in full and he gets killed off unceremoniously...you heard it here first!

Dude, dead *is* dead. Period. Locke is dead. The guy running around the island who looks like Locke is really the Smoke Monster. That's how Locke knew how to get to the temple wall, that's why Locke was offstage the entire time Ben was with Smokey and then reappeared the minute Smokey dissipated. That's why Smokey Alex ordered Ben to obey "Locke." Now I'm just trying to figure out what Smokey Locke meant when he told Sun (with great gravitas) he's the same man he's always been, because I am pretty sure that the Locke we saw on the island after 815 crashed was *not* the Smoke Monster.

Eggplant Girl, you've got it all wrong- that would be so boring! The new Locke is the same Locke (physically) we've always known. Whether or not he's ALIVE (read: he's a zombie) is up for debate. Anyway, he's definitely NOT the smoke monster, or Jacob, etc. He's something entirely new, and Ben knows it.

Also, this is why he knew where to go, some new supernatural ability. Perhaps whatever came over Locke also affected Richard Alpert long ago... can't wait for a mysterious flash forward to a technologically advanced future island with a never-aged Locke on a hover bike.
